26 killed in rocket attack on wedding party in Helmand
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least 26 non-combatants were killed following a rocket attack on a wedding party in southern Helmand...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan... province of Afghanistan. According to the local government officials, the incident took place while heavy festivities were continuing between Afghan cops and Talibs late on Wednesday night. Provincial police front man, Farid Ahmad Obaid, said the rocked landed in a wedding party in Sangin district. Obaid confirmed that 26 non-combatants were killed and nearly 45 ohers were maimed following the incident. But, a member of the provincial council says at least 30 people were killed and around 60 others were maimed. Helmand is among the volatile provinces in southern Afghanistan where anti-government armed murderous Moslems are actively operating and frequently carry out insurgency activities.
