Hook Boy Gets Life
 Abu Hamza, born in Egypt as Mustafa Kamel Mustafa, was found guilty in May of 11 counts, including providing support for al-Qaeda. He argued that because of his disabilities, he would suffer unconstitutionally cruel and unusual punishment if incarcerated at the maximum-security federal prison in Florence, Colorado. His forearms were amputated after an accident involving explosives and he suffers from psoriasis, diabetes and high blood pressure. While acknowledging Abu Hamza was convicted of “terrible crimes,” his lawyers, Michael Bachrach and Sam Schmidt, argued a sentence of less than life in prison was appropriate.
