Then they were ISIS's burden, potentially useful as hostages and human shields, demoralizing by their very existence; now they've shoved the burden onto the Kurds, hoping it will sink them, or at least slow them down a bit. It's an ancient tactic.

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
