Shaboobs attack Bossaso Police station
BOSSASO, Somalia -- Suspected Al Shabaab gunmen attacked a police station in the Gulf of Aden Port City of Bossaso on Tuesday evening, Garowe Online reports.Militants armed with rocket propelled grenades and AK 47 rifles carried out the pre-planned attack, destroying troop-transport vehicle and seriously wounding a soldier. A gun battle that lasted nearly 30 minutes ensued between police officers manning the compound and the attackers, security officials said. The attack on Balade police compound in New Bossaso neighborhood comes a few hours after two assailants shot and killed community leader identified as Mohamud Dirie Bidar in Galkayo’s Garsoor neighborhood. On Tuesday morning, Mudug region accountant Mohamed Ali Yusuf (Gadayare) survived roadside bomb.
