The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, "Elements of the ISIS organization detonated al-Tahra Church (the Citadel) of the Syriac Orthodox Church, located in the Shaarin market in central Mosul," pointing out that"ISIS elements robbed the contents of the Church, including manuscripts, paintings in Syriac language and historical metal pots."

The source, who requested anonymity, added: "There is ambiguity about the fate of the other churches and community schools in Shaarin area, including the Syrian Catholic and the Armenian Orthodox."

The British 'Christian Today' magazine wrote, "The ISIS organization in Mosul has opened a market where goods looted from Christians' homes and churches are sold."

The magazine added,"ISIS named this market 'Christians' Spoils Market' where goods such as televisions, refrigerators, freezers, cooling systems, and electrical appliances stolen from Christian homes are sold," adding that, "The market was a success because the goods were cheap and of good quality."
