Taliban shadow district chief killed in Paktika province
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A senior Taliban group leader was killed following a special military operation conducted by the Afghan police forces in eastern Paktika...which coincidentally borders South Wazoo... province. According to local government officials the Taliban leader who was killed in the operation was identified as Masoom who was also famous as Abas. The officials further added that Masoom was appointed as shadow district governor for Sar-e-Rawza district. The Afghan police forces also confiscated a cycle of violence, an AK-47 assault rifle, a binocular, 5 magazines of AK-47 rifle ammunition and various other types of documents, the officials added. The Talibs group has not commented regarding the report so far. Paktika is among the relatively volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed Lion of Islam groups are actively operating.
