Man accused of murdering 22 people killed

It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... : Police fatally shot a man, who was incarcerated Book 'im, Mahmoud! on Thursday and confessed to killing 22 people, in a bid to foil his escape from custody on Friday. The accused, Ubaidur Rehman, was killed in Altaf Nagar of Orangi Town in a shoot-out, in which a police official also sustained injuries. The arrest was declared by Tahir Naveed, deputy inspector general (DIG) of western Karachi. Investigators told media that the accused had confessed to killing 22 men, including eight police officials and four doctors. Police sources said that the Sherlocks were taking Rehman to identify his other accomplices when he allegedly tried to snatch the gun from a police official and was shot.
