Taliban attack Shindand District in Herat
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Dozens of Taliban gunnies launched an attack on government compounds Sunday night in the city of Shindand District of western Herat...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns... Province. Reports indicate that shootout is ongoing between Taliban and security forces in the city.
