Barbed wire fencing put up at Khaleda's office
[Dhaka Tribune] BNP officials yesterday put barbed wire fencing over the boundary walls of Party Chairperson  Three-term PM of Bangla, widow of deceased dictator Ziaur Rahman, head of the Bangla Nationalist Party, an apparent magnet for corruption ... 's Gulshan office to ensure her security. "The barbed wire fencing is to protect Khaleda. This security measure was taken to prevent miscreants from entering her office," Syrul Kabir Khan, an official of the BNP chairperson's press wing said to journalists. Kabir alleged an outsider had tried to get inside the office by crossing the border wall, and a different person had made a similar attempt yesterday. The BNP chairperson has been staying in her Gulshan office from January 3. She announced a nationwide blockade programme on January 5, after failing to leave her residence to join a rally, as her office was virtually confined with sand-laden trucks and police vans stationed outside.
