Six wounded by bomb targeting Buddhist monks
[Khao Sod] Thai police say four security officers and two civilians were wounded by a homemade bomb that targeted a group of Buddhist monks in Saiburi district of Pattani province.
A border patrol team was escorting Buddhist monks during their morning walk to collect alms when the bomb exploded. The bomb reportedly had been placed in a trash bin on the side of the road. Four police officers and two civilians were wounded by shrapnel. Police sources say they believe the bomb was planted by "violent individuals", a phrase usually used to describe the Islamic insurgents.
On the same day, two civilians were shot and wounded by unidentified assailants as they were riding a motorcycle in Pattani.
