The ministry said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews, "Iraqi forces from the army and local police elements backed by al-Hashed al-Sha'bi militia fighters have continued for the 24th day in a row to cleanse the areas in the east and center of al-Karma district, with support from the army's air force and the international coalition warplanes." "The forces have managed to kill 3 terrorists, including a sniper, in addition to destroying 4 shelters and a vehicle for them in the area of al-Itr," the statement asserted. The source, who requested anonymity, added, "The army's air force, in coordination with the special rapid intervention units, has carried out an air strike on ISIS sites in al-Harirat area in the district of al-Karma (53 km east of Ramadi)," pointing out that, "The air strike resulted in killing and wounding a number of ISIS Lion of Islams, in addition to destroying their hideouts."
