North Korean asks for asylum at German embassy in Beijing
A North Korean has requested asylum at the German Embassy in Beijing, German diplomatic sources said Friday. The North Korean approached the embassy on Thursday evening and asked for help in going to South Korea, the sources said. German diplomats are involved in a "variety of talks" on the person's status, said the diplomats, who wouldn't give any personal details about the North Korean. The incident came six weeks after a group of 25 North Koreans rushed into Spain's embassy and asked to go to South Korea. They were allowed to leave a day later, traveling to the South via the Philippines."Unhappy" is such a relative thing. Send this poor guy to Magdeburg and he'll think he's in the lap of prosperity.
