  • Police said a bus suffered extensive damage at Grath Mode, 170 km from Jammu, in an IED explosion. The driver died on the spot. Forty two others, including nine policemen, were injured, some critically.
  • A Lashkar-e-Taiba thug was zapped in an encounter with troops in Islamabad district last night. He has been identified as Abu Asrar of Pakistan, a battalion commander.
  • A big shot of Tehreek-e-Jihad and his bodyguard were killed in an encounter with troops in Rajouri district. Four civilians sustained injuries during the encounter. Of them, a retired zonal education officer, Muhammad Iqbal, has been admitted in a Jammu hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
  • Two snuffies were iced in an encounter with security forces at Hari Ganga in Poonch district.
  • A CRPF man who sustained injuries in a grenade attack Karan Nagar on April 13, today passed away. The attack left two soldiers dead on the spot. Another succumbed in the hospital a few days later.
  • Soldiers shot at a civilian when he was strolling in his lawns in Islamabad district. The injured, identified as Abdul Rashid Dar, was rushed to hospital in critical condition.
  • Security forces apprehended one Gulam Nabi after recovering 700 rounds of Ak ammunition from his house in Rajouri district. He was later handed over to police for investigation.
  • Unknown persons set fire to two houses in Varmul district after chasing the inhabitants out.
