Saudi Violates UN-Declared Truce in Yemen
[ALMANAR.LB] Shortly after a humanitarian truce..The purposes of a truce are twofold: 1.) bring up more arms, ammunition, and reinforcements; and 2.) get the enemy to relax his vigilance. A truceis not the same thing as a ceasefire, and a ceasefiredoesn't mean you have to stop shooting... went into effect in Yemen, Saudi warplanes struck several areas across the Arab impoverished country, violating the UN-sponsored ceasefire. Except for a tiny handfull of Jews everthing there is very Islamic... reported that the Saudi-led warplanes hit Saada, Shabwa and Taiz, few minutes after the truce went into effect. The warplanes also struck a house in Jabal Jarra, a truck loaded with food supplies in al-Arish city in Aden province, our correspondent said. The relentless air campaign continued into the early hours of Saturday morning, with the Saudi-led warplanes hit Maalla, Khor Mikser and Ribat areas in restive Lahj ... a Yemeni governate located in the southwestern corner of the Arabian Peninsula. It is the stomping grounds on the southern secessionist al-Harak movement province. Earlier on Friday, the United Nations ...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense... Security Council called on all sides of the Yemen conflict to observe the break in fighting, which is slated to run up to the end of the fasting month of Ramadan on July 17. "All parties will need to suspend military operations during the pause," the 15-member UN council said in a unanimous statement, urging all sides "to exercise restraint in cases of isolated violations and to avoid escalation." Also on Friday, leader of Yemen's Ansarullah movement Abdul-Malik al-Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews... said he was doubtful about the ceasefire. "We do not have much hope for the truce to succeed," said Huthi in a televised statement on Yemen's al-Masirah television. The Saudi Yemen has been since March 26 under brutal aggression by Saudi-led coalition. Thousands have been martyred and injured in the attack, with the vast majority of them are civilians. Riyadh launched the attack on Yemen in a bid to restore power to Yemen's runaway President Abd Rabbu MansourHadi who is a close ally to Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... . Last week, the UN declared Yemen a level-3 humanitarian emergency, the highest on its scale, with nearly half of the country's regions facing a food crisis. More than 21.1 million people -- over 80 percent of Yemen's population -- are in need of aid, with 13 million facing food shortages.
