Iraqi security forces control Falasi district in Khalidiya
[RUDAW.NET] Iraqi security forces have wrested control of the Falasi district in Khalidiya in Anbar province from the Islamic State...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allaharound with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not reallyMoslems.... . An Anbar police official told Rudaw that after fierce fighting, Iraqi security forces supported by tribal bully boyz with the federal police and anti-terrorism forces took Falasi. A source, who wished to remain anonymous, added festivities took place after ISIS launched an assault on Iraqi forces in some Anbar districts. During the festivities more than 20 ISIS fighters were killed and a number of armored vehicles were destroyed. Despite the reported government progress, Mohammed Harat, a tribal leader, told Rudaw Islamic State fighters launched mortars at different districts in Khalidiya and the situation was getting worse.
