LNA Support Forces claim Badi attack on Al-Jmail, Ajilat and Rigdaleen 'imminent'
[Libya Herald] The Libyan National Army's (LNA's) Support Forces in the west of Tripoli...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... have claimed that Misratan commander Salah Badi ...a Misrata militia commander, self-appointed colonel and a member of the Wafa Islamist bloc. He was cashiered from the Libyan army in 1992 because he was nuts... is gathering fighters near the Mellitah oil and gas complex, near Zuwara, and is preparing to attack Al-Jmail, Ajilat and Rigdaleen. The three towns back the LNA and the House of Representatives. Zuwara is sympathetic to Libya Dawn ...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to Abdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar... . In a statement today, Wednesday, the Support Forces said that an imminent attack was expected by the Samoud (Steadfastness) Front. It was set up last month by Badi after two of of the largest Misratan brigades in the Libya Dawn alliance made peace deals with local forces in the area west of the capital and pulled out. Twenty armed vehicles bearing Samoud Front logos are said to have arrived outside the Mellitah complex. The Support Forces are the autonomous local militias, such as from Zintan and the Warshefana, which are supported and directed by the LNA. The announcement follows protests last night in the area at the death sentences on Saif Al-Islam, Abdullah Senussi and other Qadaffy regime figures by a court in Tripoli.
