Elderly man repels ambush with his shotgun
[Bangkok Post] An elderly man ambushed by insurgents sent the militants fleeing when he fought back with his own shotgun in Narathiwat province on Wednesday.
Pradab Thaenmuk, a retired hospital employee, told police he was riding his motorcycle near a village in Rueso district when some men hiding at the side of the road opened fire at him with a rifle. They missed him. He stopped his motorcycle, ran for a cover and then returned fire with his shotgun. The attackers fled.
Police believe the attackers were insurgent militants.
