A statement issued by the NDS on Sunday states that Ghulam Nabi a resident of Herat city intended to dig a tunnel from a few kilometers into the provincial captivity and pave way for prisoners to escape.

In another development, the statement adds that two money changers who were facilitating the transfer of cash between Taliban members were detained form the jurisdiction of Shindand District of Herat province.

According to the statement Mohammad and Abdul Ghani planned to transfer 294,000 Pak Rupees to Mullah Jamil the so-called governor of Taliban group for Shindand District.

The spy agency has also arrested Mullah Ghawsuddin who was using the name of Islam and illegally collecting money for Taliban.

NDS blurb further states that two resident of Faryab province who were kidnapped by Taliban in Kurkh District of Herat province were also released in a successful operation. "They were reunited with their families." The statement adds.

The statement does not contain the exact dates of the achievements but NDS usually issues a blurb after recent activities.
