Militants attack Jiwani airport in Balochistan, two killed
[DAWN] At least two engineers were killed on Sunday as a result of a holy warrior attack on Jiwani aiport, near the Pak-Iran coastal border in Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... 's Gwadar district. Police sources told DawnNews unknown miscreants shot up the airport and killed electronics superintendent identified as Khalilullah during the attack. The assailants had also kidnapped electronics engineer Mehmudullah Niazi from the airport. Niazi's bullet-ridden body was later found from a nearby area. Police sources said that the kidnapped engineer was shot from a close range. At least six miscreants riding cycle of violences were involved in the attack on Jiwani airport, police said. According to sources, security was not tight in and around the airport at the time of attack. The assailants sped away on their cycle of violences after the attack. Police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies reached the site and started investigation into the incident. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack. In the past, Lions of Islam attacked the Pasni Radar Station in the region. Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch also condemned the attack and expresses grief over the loss of innocent lives, He also directed the district administration and police officials to file a report in this regard.
