No outside intervention except to stop Hafter, says GNC's Sewehli
[Libya Herald] The international community should demonstrate its good faith by stopping military offensives in Benghazi and Derna, a member of the GNC negotiating team said yesterday at the United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
, after the meeting of the General Assembly.

Abdul Rahman Sewehli said that the confidence would be built and the UNSMIL dialogue helped "by pressing the war criminal Hafter and his militia from operations in Benghazi and Derna" which, he added, were targeting civilians.

Sewehli set out five demands, which included the exclusion of leaders from the old regime in any future political agreement.

While he welcomed the support of the UN in the dialogue he warned that threats and outside intervention were totally unacceptable. Libyans alone, he said, had the right to determine their future.

Sewehli also said that while he respected the views of others, he rejected any attempt to impose those views. He and his fellow negotiators had a full mandate from the General National Congress and would not be deterred until a comprehensive political agreement had been reached on the principles that the GNC had set out.
