AMISON, Shaboobs clash in Hiiraan
Somali Govt troops backed by African Soldiers in the country’s central Hiiraan region began advancing on villages controlled by Al shabaab militants, military officers said.The allied troops are now a few kilometers from Eldhere village after retaking Garisyani area on the outskirts of Bula-burde town over the weekend, according to Mohamed Omar Aden, a senior Somali military commander. Somali and AMISOM troops have been making military movements across Hiiraan region over the past few months, in a move they want to drive the Al shabaab militants out of their remaining bastions.
