Shaboobs attack Bardera airstrip
BARDERA, Somalia -- Al Shabaab militants raided airstrip in Gedo regional district of Bardera late on Saturday night according to residents, Garowe Online reports.Ethiopian and Kenyan forces serving with the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) are co-located at Bardera airstrip on the outskirts of one of the newly liberated areas in southwestern Somalia. Volleys of gunfire and fierce gun-battle erupted after militants attacked the base, residents reported. Stray bullets wounded three people, including nine-year-old girl. African Union mission and Al Shabaab have not commented on the exact number of casualty figures. Telecommunication has been taken off air after security forces began massive security operation to track any links to terror group.
