Bomb kills four defense volunteers in southern Thailand
[Bangkok Post] A bomb exploded in Pattani province on Thursday night, killing four village defense volunteers and injuring four more. The bomb was detonated at a village defense guard post in Khok Pho district. Three volunteers died at the scene and five others were wounded and taken to hospital. One of the wounded died later.The bomb was hidden inside the guard booth. It went off shortly after the the seven village guards began their graveyard shift. Police on Friday inspected the scene and found fragments of steel rods and an electrical circuit at the scene. They said the bomb was detonated by radio. The attack was blamed on insurgents.
