Galmudug forces take villages near Harardhere town from Shaboobs
Forces loyal to the newly formed interim administration of Galmudug state have retaken villages from Al shabaab after an attack against militants in Mudug region.Galmudug troops pushed militants out of Hanra and Qosol-Tire villages located in the outskirts of Harardherer, the biggest Al shabaab stronghold in Mududg region of central Somalia. Today’s fighting near Harardhere town came after Galmudug forces moved to Hanra and Qosol-Tire villages to give military support to local residents who resisted an Al shabaab order to accumulate Zakah (an Islamic levy on wealth).
