2 Karachi kops killed
 KARACHI: Two policemen were killed on Saturday as unidentified assailants opened fire on a police check-post on the Super Highway in Karachi.According to police officials, at least four armed riders opened fire on two police personnel while they were manning a police check-post on the Super Highway. “One police official was killed while another was seriously injured who later succumbed to injuries at the hospital,” said a police official. Police added that the attackers fired at the personnel with 9mm and 30-bore pistols before escaping with the official weapons of the police personnel. At least nine bullet casings were seized from the spot while rescue teams shifted the bodies to the mortuary. The banned Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has claimed responsibility of the attack. TTP spokesman Muhammad Khorasani said in an email that TTP commandos attacked the policemen on the Super Highway. “While the policemen suffered, TTP commandos are safe,” read the email. According to a report issued by law enforcement agencies on the completion of two years of Karachi operation, 232 police personnel including officers embraced martyrdom while 23 Rangers personnel laid down their lives fighting terrorists and criminal elements in the city.
