Shaboobs sent fleeing in Wajid
Somali Govt troops and their allied African Union troops have repelled an Al shabaab attack after heavily armed militants attacked their convoy near Wajid town, south of Bakol region.

The confrontation broke out Saturday morning when the militants with Al shabaab waylaid the allied troops while conducting a security patrol in the villages nearby Wajid town, reports said.

Reports from Wajid indicate that both warring sides have suffered casualties during the armed clash.

Despite losing large ground, Somali-based militants are in control of swathes of territories in south and central regions of the horn of Africa as SNA and AMISOM making gains in the battle against Al shabaab.
