The strike was intended to reduce ISIS's ability to transport stolen oil products. The Pentagon's Operation Inherent Resolve Spokesman Colonel Steve Warren told reporters that before the mid-November airstrike, the military dropped leaflets warning truckers, "Get out of your trucks now, and run away from them."
