Police Detain Two For Murder Of Asia TV Boss

Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the Worldand didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either.... Police have detained the brother-in-law and one other in connection with the shooting in Kabul of Amanullah Ataee, head of Asia television, said Kabul police Monday. Ataee was the head of Asia TV an independent television channel. He was bumped off outside his house in Kart-e-Naw in Kabul city on Sunday night. Ataee's family said that he was killed by relatives. "We have detained two people in connection with the murder. One of them is named Ajmal and both of them are in police custody," said Kabul police chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi. Meanwhile the victim's brother Abdul Qadir Ataee, blamed family for the murder. "Those who killed my brother are family and we told the police who they are. We ask the police to arrest them and punish them," said the victim's brother Abdul Qadir Ataee. Amanullah Ataee's family called on government to ensure justice is carried out and said that if government does not take the matter seriously they will take action. This is the second attack in the past week in Kabul against public figures. Last week two men on a cycle of violence opened fire on Ahmad Saeedi a well-known political analyst.
