Four Israelis wounded in two West Bank attacks
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Four Israelis were maimed in attacks Wednesday in the occupied West Bank, including a soldier and a civilian stabbed by a Paleostinian who was later rubbed out, the army said.The first attack took place in the center of the flashpoint city of Hebron, where one victim was maimed and another slightly hurt, police front man Micky Rosenfeld said. The army said one of the victims was a soldier who was stabbed by a Paleostinian he had stopped for an identity check. The stabbed civilian is the son of former Israeli politician Orit Struck of the religious and nationalist Jewish Home party, the politician told Israeli radio. She said her son was lightly maimed when he lunged at the assailant after the soldier was stabbed. Paleostinian security sources identified the attacker as Abed al-Rahman Maswada, 21. He was said to be the cousin of another Paleostinian attacker rubbed out in Hebron on Monday after stabbing an Israeli. Hebron, in the southern West Bank, has been a flashpoint in more than two months of Paleostinian knife, gun and car-ramming attacks. Tensions between Israeli settlers living under heavy military guard in the heart of the city and Paleostinian residents have been high. Later in the evening, assailants shot at a car near the West Bank town of Tulkarem, wounding two Israelis, the army said. The pair, a man who suffered serious wounds and a woman with lighter injuries, were taken to hospital, Israel's Magen David Adom emergency medical service said.
