Woman shot to death in Sar--e-Pul
Unidentified gunmen have shot dead a newly married woman in Kohistanat District of northern Sar-e-Pul province.Akhtar Bibi, 40, had been imprisoned on adultery charges for one year. Upon release from jail, she married a relative and continued ordinary life in her village. Reports suggest that she was mysteriously killed on Wednesday night. Governor of Sar-e-Pul province has confirmed the incident. However, he did not provided further details into it. Meanwhile, head of the Directorate of Women Affairs of Sar-e-Pul province said Akhtar Bibi was gunned down in front of her house. Nasima Arzo while strongly condemning the incident urged government to arrest the perpetrators and punish them.
