Turkey detains 9 suspected ISIL members in southern province

's southern province of Kilis on Monday while trying to illegally cross into Turkey from Syria. According to the Dogan news agency, the Kilis Governor's Office said the foreign nationals, whose names were not revealed by authorities, were detained in the towns of Cobanbey, Cildiroba and Alahan. All three towns are in the province of Kilis, which borders Syria. The Turkish authorities have extended operations against suspected ISIL cells after a double suicide kaboom in Ankara last October that killed more than 100 people. The bombing was blamed on the Lion of Islam group. Two suspected members of ISIL were detained on Wednesday on suspicion of having devised a plot to carry out suicide kabooms in the capital of Ankara on New Year's Eve.
