According to the local media reports in Pakistain, the senior Taliban leader, Mawlawi Mohammad Alam was rubbed out by gunnies close to Quetta, the quiet provincial capital of Balochistan.

The incident took place on Thursday evening in Kuchlak area located around 25 kilometres from the quiet provincial capital.

Mawlawi Alam was a big shot of the Taliban group and was a loyal commander to the newly-appointed Taliban supreme leader Mullah Akhtar Mansoor.

Sources within the Taliban group have confirmed the incident and have said the an investigation has been launched to find out the main motive and those involved behind the liquidation.

The Taliban group in Afghanistan has not formally confirmed the liquidation of Mawlawi Alam so far.

Mawlawi Alam has reportedly led numerous fights in favor of Mullah Mansoor following soaring tensions among the Taliban leaders with the announcement of Taliban group founder Mullah Mohammad Omar's death and announcement of his successor.
