At least 21 people killed in air strikes on Eastern Ghouta towns
[EN.ZAMANALWSL.NET] Syrian regime warplanes on Thursday have staged air strikes on Eastern Ghouta towns near Damascus, killing at least 21 people, including children, and wounding about 140, local activists told Zaman al-Wasl.

Local activists said 12 people have been killed in the stricken town of Erbin while 6 more people have been killed in nearby Zamalka, in less than 24 hours since 10 people bit the dust in the aerial bombing on Zamalka.

Three more people were killed in Douma city, activists added.

On Wednesday, Syrian regime and rebel bombardment killed at least 24 civilians and maimed dozens in the capital and the embattled Eastern Ghouta, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and activists said.

Mortar rounds fired from the rebel-held Eastern Ghouta region onto residential areas of Damascus left nine civilians dead and 25 maimed, local monitoring group tracks rebels shelling on Damascus said.

The attack came after the regime fired 6 cluster rockets onto Douma earlier in the day, killing five civilians, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and media center.

It was a driving force behind actions in the Damascus region. It cooperated and conducted joint operations with al-Nusra.
