Baghdad bombs: 8 die
5 civilians killed in double bombing east of Baghdad

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Monday, a source in the Ministry of Interior announced, that five civilians were killed by unknown gunmen in the New Baghdad area east of the capital.

The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “Unidentified gunmen detonated two car bombs, while clashed with the security forces when they tried to break into the mall of New Baghdad area east of the capital.”

The source added: “Five civilians were killed according to the preliminary outcome incident’s report,” pointing out that, “The security forces were able to foil the attack, while continued to clash with the militants.”

2 Wounded in bomb attack


(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi police said on Monday, that two civilians had been wounded in a bomb blast that took place in eastern the capital Baghdad.

The source said in a brief statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, an explosive device that was emplaced on the road side in the area of al-Bawiyah has went off injuring two civilians,” adding that, “A security force cordoned off the area and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment, while opened an investigation into the incident.”


6 Casualties in Bomb attack


(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source within the police force said on Monday, that a person had been killed and five others were injured in a car bomb blast in the Nahrowan area southeast of Baghdad.

The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “This evening, a booby-trapped vehicle that was parked on the road side in the area of Nahrowan exploded resulting in the death of one person and wounding five others,” noting that, “Ambulances rushed to the area of the incident and transferred the injured to a nearby hospital and the dead body to the forensic medicine department.”

2 die in mortar attack

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Monday, a source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior announced, that 11 people had been either killed or wounded by three mortar shells south of Baghdad.

The source said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “Tis morning, three mortar shells fell near houses in Hor Rajab village Dawra area south of Baghdad, killing two people and injuring nine others.”

The source added: “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department, while a raid was carried out to search for the missile launchers.”
