Five convicts sent to prison for 18 years
KOHAT: An anti-terrorism court convicted two personnel of a paramilitary force and three others on Thursday, sentencing each of them to 18 years in prison.Judge Gohar Rehman also fined the convicts Rs90,000 each. On Oct 11, 2014, a group of terrorists came face to face with a police patrol in the mountains of Kamardhand. The terrorists used rockets, hand grenades and automatic weapons in an exchange of fire with the police, which claimed the life of a former army man, Jehangir, a resident of Nowshera. The convicts were identified as Shakir, Kamran, Said Mir, Javed and Shadi Muhammnad. They were arrested and an FIR was registered against them under Sections 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 302, 324,353 and 15 AA.
