Allied aircraft hammers ISIS positions in Hasakah
HASAKAH – Warplanes of the U.S.-led coalition on Sunday hit headquarters of the radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) in Syria’s northeastern province of Hasakah.

The coalition hit ISIS’s security checkpoints and a weapons storage center in the city of Shaddadi –main ISIS bastion in Hasakah. Speaking to ARA News in Shaddadi, media activist Dahham Jabouri said that three ISIS’s checkpoints were bombed under the airstrikes on Sunday.

“At least 14 militants were guarding the checkpoints when several airstrikes by the coalition’s fighter jets hit their posts. All ISIS guards were confirmed to be dead after the raids,” the informed source reported.

Jabouri added that one airstrike hit a small weapons storage center in Shaddadi, causing a huge explosion in the building.

“Explosive devices and ammunitions blew up after the airstrike,” the source told ARA News.

Backed by an air cover from the western coalition, Kurdish-Arab alliance of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) has earlier liberated more than 240 towns and villages in Hasakah province, northeast Syria. Shaddadi is deemed one of the last positions for ISIS jihadis in the province.
