Kabul Police Arrest 318 Suspects For Various Crimes
Kabul Police Headquarters officials said on Tuesday that at least 318 people have been arrested in Kabul on charges of various crimes over the past three weeks.

Kabul Police Chief Abdul Rahman Rahimi said at a conference that their files have been sent to court for further investigation.

He said that 25 of the 318 individuals have been arrested on murder charges and that they have confessed to their crimes.

"Primary files of some of the suspects were prepared and were sent to the judiciary [for further investigation] and we will send the remaining files as well," he said.

"We have also arrested car thieves and we have returned stolen cars to their owners," he added.

Meanwhile, a number of residents welcomed the move by the Kabul police and said there should be more focus on reducing crime in the country.

Mohammad Shafiq, a Kabul resident recalled the day when his car was stolen and said: "I was beaten. My car was taken away by robbers. Then I informed police."

Police officials present at the event said they will leave no stone unturned to ensure the safety of citizens and reduce crime in the city.
