Indonesia confirms female hostages held in Iraq
INDONESIAN officials today confirmed two of its women citizens were among 10 people kidnapped by an Islamist militant group in Iraq. "They are Indonesians," Indonesian Foreign Ministry spokesman Marty Natalegawa said. The two women were paraded alongside six Iraqi and two Lebanese captives by the militants on Arabic television yesterday. Senior foreign ministry official Ferry Adamhar confirmed the women's identities as Rosidah and Rafikan. "From what we got from our office in Doha, they are originally from Jakarta," Mr Adamhar told Elshinta radio.
