Taliban militants abduct 11 civilians in northern Sar-e-Pul province
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Talibs have kidnapped at least 11 civilians from an highway in northern Sar-e-Pul province of Afghanistan, local officials said Wednesday.

The officials further added that the civilians were travelling in a vehicle when they were stopped and kidnapped by the Lion of Islams.

A member of the provincial council Mohammad Ali Hakimi confirmed the civilians were on their way to quiet provincial capital when their vehicle was stopped.

Sar-e-Pul is among the relatively volatile provinces in northern Afghanistan where anti-government armed forces of Evil groups are actively operating in a number of its districts and often carry out insurgency activities.

Heavy festivities were reported in parts of Sar-e-Pul province as the Talibs launched coordinated attacks on Afghan security posts late last year.

The Talibs also took control of Kohistan

at district following an offensive earlier in the month of October last year.

The anti-government armed forces of Evil also kidnapped five civilians from a highway between the northern Jawzjan and Sar-e-Pul province earlier in September last year.

Militants are often stopping the civilians buses and vehicles on main highways in volatile parts of the country and kidnap civilians, accusing them of working for the government or being members of the security forces.
