Seven rangers wounded in attack against Thai hospital
[The Nation] At least seven rangers were wounded when Muslim militants launched three simultaneous attacks against soldiers and police in Narathiwat province before some of them fled inside a hospital and exchanged gunfire with security forces there.

In the first attack, four insurgents on two motorcycles fired at a police unit guarding the Joh I Rong district railway station. The militants also fired two M79 grenades at police and rangers who pursued them, but no one was wounded.

In the second attack, about ten militants fired grenades at a ranger post near the hospital, wounding seven rangers. The militants then fled into the hospital and exchanged gunfire with security forces for over an hour before they fled by hiding themselves among the fleeing patients.

In the third attack, militants detonated a roadside bomb, but there were no casualties.
