244 detained in Punjab
LAHORE: Security agencies continued a search operation in Punjab on the fourth consecutive day on Thursday and detained 244 suspects for further questioning out of the total 6,563 picked up during the last 24 hours.The 61 intelligence-based operations were conducted by the army and Rangers with the coordination of other sensitive agencies. The Punjab police conducted 82 search operations and the Counter Terrorism Department 21, a spokesperson for the police said. She said the focused areas of operations of the law-enforcement agencies were residential areas, markets, hotels, rest houses, educational institutes and other important offices.
