Civilians suffer casualties as militants attack vehicle in Ghazni
A civilian was reportedly killed and nine others were wounded after gunmen opened fire on their vehicle in the restive southeastern Ghazni province of Afghanistan.According to the local government officials, the incident took place earlier today in Andar district after unknown gunmen targeted the vehicle. Provincial police spokesman Ahamd Fahim Amiri confirmed that the incident took place in Kote Sangi area of Andar district. He said at least five people were wounded in the attack and were taken to Kabul for treatment with the condition of the victim’s reported to be critical. However, the eyewitnesses in the area said at least one civilian was killed and nine others were wounded in the attack. No group including the Taliban militants has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident. Ghazni is among the volatile provinces in southeastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militants are actively operating and frequently carry out insurgency activities.
