2 die in market bombing attack

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi Ministry of Interior revealed on Saturday, that ten people had been either killed or wounded in a bomb blast in northern Baghdad.

The source reported for IraqiNews.com, “This morning, a bomb exploded near a popular market in Sabaa al-Bour area in northern Baghdad, killing two people and wounding eight others.”

The source, who requested anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital for treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department, while cordoned off the area of the incident and barred approaching it.”

1 dead in mortar attack


(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Iraqi police said on Saturday, that a soldier was killed and 13 others were injured in a mortar shell attack in western Baghdad.

The source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Today, militants fired several mortar shells targeting the headquarters of the army in the district of Abu Ghraib west of Baghdad, resulting in the death of one soldier and wounding 13 others.”

The source also added, “The security forces transferred the injured to a nearby hospital and the dead body to the forensic medicine authority.”

2 die in stadium bombing

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – A source in the Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday, that 11 people had been either killed or wounded in a bomb blast near a football stadium in southern Baghdad.

The source said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “On Thursday evening, a bomb exploded near a football stadium in al-Wardiya area in Madain District in southern Baghdad during a match between popular teams, killing two people and injuring nine others.”

The source, who asked anonymity, added, “A security force rushed to the area and transferred the wounded to a nearby hospital to receive treatment and the dead bodies to the forensic medicine department, while imposed a security cordon on the area of the incident.”
