2 students killed, 4 wounded as rocket lands on school in Mehtarlam city
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] Two students bit the dust and four others sustained injuries after a rocket landed on a school in Mehtarlam city in eastern Laghman province of Afghanistan.The Ministry of Education (MoD) said the rocket landed in the vicinity of Shahid Mawlavi Habib-ur-Rehman high school this morning. A statement by MoE said the dear departed students have been identified as third grade student Mohammad Shakir and eight grade student Mohammad Zakir. The statement further added that four others studying in second and third grades were maimed in the attack. The ministry strongly condemned the attack on the school and urged the security personnel to take immediate steps in arresting the perpetrators of the incident. No group including the Talibs has so far grabbed credit behind the incident. Laghman is among the relatively volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed hard boy groups including the Taliban bully boyz are active in a number of its districts and often carry out insurgency activities. This comes as a roadside kaboom targeted a vehicle carrying the Ministry of Education employees in Kabul ...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the Worldand didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either.... earlier this week, leaving two dead and five others maimed.
