Tajikistan arrests five imams for extremism
 [RFE/RL] Authorities in Tajikistan have arrested five imams for promoting extremism and recruiting young people to join militant groups abroad.Hasan Boboshukurov, the head of the religious affairs department in Konibodom, said that four of the men led prayers and sermons in village mosques in the northern Tajik district until they were arrested last week. A local law enforcement official said the five imams' activities came to light after a tip from three other imams arrested in the same district last month. Fifteen Muslim clerics have been arrested on extremism charges in the northern Sughd Province between January and April.
