U.N. Seeks Assurances from Libya over Arms Purchases
[An Nahar] The UN Security Council is seeking assurances from Libya's unity government that new weapons will not fall into the wrong hands before it can authorize the purchases, diplomats said Friday.Britannia, Egypt, Italia, the United States and Russia were among 25 countries that agreed at a meeting last month to help the government of Prime Minister Fayez al-Sarraj arm itself to confront the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference.
