Alleged Shia mosque attacker killed in ‘gunfight’
[Dhaka Tribune] A member of banned bully boy group JMB, who had allegedly been involved in the attack on a Shia mosque in Bogra last year, was killed early yesterday in a "shootout" with the law enforcers in Shibganj upazila in Bogra.Victim Kawser, 25, is son of Amir Ali of Komorgram in Joypurhat sadar. Police said that a detained JMB member had mentioned about Kawser’s involvement in the November 26 attack while giving confessional statement before a court. On Tuesday, three JMB leaders and members were killed in separate "shootouts" with the police in Dhaka and Rajshahi. One of them was Sultan Mahmud alias Rana alias Kamal. Police claimed that Sultan was one of the youths who had attacked on the devotees of the Shia mosque at Shibganj.
