 11 die in bomb attack in New Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday, a source from the Iraqi Ministry of Interior revealed that at least 13 people were either killed or wounded in an explosion of a booby-trap vehicle at New Baghdad area in eastern Baghdad. Meanwhile, it is expected that the number of casualties will increase as time goes by as it was a high intensity bombing. In a statement issued to the press, which has also been obtained by IraqiNews.com, the source said, “This morning, a booby-trap vehicle exploded near a popular market in New Baghdad area of eastern Baghdad, killing four people and wounding nine others.” The source, who requested anonymity, furher added, “Ambulances rushed to the incident area and evacuated the wounded to a nearby hospital. The bodies of the deceased people were sent forensic tests and the area has been cordoned off and approach to the area has been sealed.” 6 die in ISIS attack on military in Taji (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Thursday, a source in the Ministry of Interior announced that a booby-trapped vehicle exploded near a gathering of the security forces and civilians at Taji district in northern Baghdad. In a statement issued to the media and also obtained by IraqiNews.com, the source said, “The death toll of the suicide bombing, which took place this morning and which was targeted at a military headquarter in al-Taji district in northern Baghdad, has increased to 6. The number of injured too has reached 18.” The source, who requested anonymity, added, “The injured are still undergoing treatment in the hospitals of Baghdad.” ISIS: Yeah, that was us (IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – The ISIS on Thursday claimed responsibility for the twin blasts that rocked New Baghdad and al-Taji district in Baghdad earlier on the day and it further revealed the identity of the perpetrators who carried out the bombing.
