Coalition warbirds hit ISIS oil facility in Deir ez-Zor
[ARA News] DEIR EZZOR – US-led coalition’s warplanes on Saturday bombed an oil facility for the radical group of Islamic State (ISIS) in eastern Syria.

Fighter jets of the western coalition launched several airstrikes on ISIS positions near the Abu Kamal city in Syrian eastern Deir ez-Zor province.

“The airstrikes targeted 11 ISIS fighting positions and an oil facility in the vicinity of Abu Kamal,” the coalition said in a statement.

Speaking to ARA News, local media activist Yalmaz Qassim said that Saturday’s strikes left heavy losses in ISIS’ ranks.

“At least five ISIS vehicles were destroyed and over 30 fighters were killed in the coalition’s raids,” Qassim reported, citing an ISIS official.

“Also, a major oil facility in the ISIS-held Abu Kamal city was destroyed by the coalition’s fighter jets on Saturday. This may increase the pressure on the group especially that they already suffer financial shortage,” the activist said.
