Iraqi army prepares offensive in Samarra District(IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – On Sunday the Iraqi Defense Minister announced starting the preparations of the liberation operations of the areas located north of Tikrit and south of Mosul. Khaled al-Obeidi said in a press statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “I visited Samarra District to check on the military and security troops in Samarra Operations,” indicating that, “We will launch liberation operations north of Tikrit and south of Mosul after preparing well trained and equipped troops.” Obeidi added, “The security troops are prepared to storm into central Fallujah,” pointing out that, “An extensive military operation was launched in Makhmur District.” Iraqi reinforcements arrive in al-Sharqat (IraqiNews.com) Salahuddin – An informed source revealed on Sunday, that armored military reinforcements have arrived in the headquarters of Salahuddin Operations Command in preparation for the battle of al-Sharqat north of Tikrit.
